Task Paralysis and Inertia
Why you feel 'Stuck' on the sofa even when you WANT to work: Analyzing the Executive Gap.
Why Your 'Engine' is Stalling
Task Paralysis is one of the most shaming aspects of ADHD. You are staring at the computer, you *know* you need to type, but your fingers won't move. You aren't "Lazy"—you are experiencing a Neurological Disconnect.
The Cause Layer:
1. Vague Demands: If a task is "Vague" (e.g., "Think about the project"), the brain has no map for it.
2. The Starting Hill: Just like a car uses the most fuel in 1st gear, the ADHD brain uses the most dopamine just to start. Once we are moving (Hyper-focus), we are fine.
The Solution Layer:
Nano-Steps: Don't "Clean the Kitchen." Just "Put one cup in the dishwasher." One cup is safe for the brain.
The '3-Second' Rule: Count 3, 2, 1, and MOVE your physical body (stand up) before your brain has a chance to object.
External Heat: Set an alarm for 5 minutes from now. The "Sudden Sound" can often break the paralysis.
