Social Media and Neurodiversity Communities (Turkish)
A guide to online platforms, peer support groups, and safe spaces generating neuro-affirming content in the Turkish social media landscape (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter).
The Power of Online Peer Solidarity
Social media channels are far more than entertainment outlets for individuals diagnosed with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD in adulthood; they act as lifelines for peer support. Under economic and clinical conditions in Turkey where accessing specialized neuro-affirming support can be exceptionally difficult, digital spaces filter complex scientific studies into practical formats.
The "lived experiences" shared within these spaces help dismantle the lifelong alienation and shame that late-diagnosed adults carry. Realizing that peers experience identical sensory overloads (meltdowns), executive deficits, and masking fatigue empowers the individual to stop self-blaming and move toward radical acceptance.

Safe Spaces and Recommended Turkish Channels
In the Turkish neurodiversity ecosystem, safe online resources are expanding rapidly. On Instagram, accounts like "@heyspectrum"—which frames first-hand autistic experiences within scientific structures—or "@audhd.turkiye"—which maps the intersection of autism and ADHD—are leading the path in establishing neuro-affirming terminology.
Additionally, user-run Discord servers and subreddits (such as r/TurkeyADHD or local autistic chat networks) serve as safe spaces. Here, individuals can let their masks drop (unmask) and freely practice their natural communication styles, such as info-dumping or parallel play, without judgment.
