Primitive Reflex Integration and Learning
How active reflexes remaining from infancy can sabotage physical and cognitive development in later life.
Old Software in the System
Babies are born with automatic nervous system responses to help them survive. As the central nervous system matures, these reflexes should be "integrated" (inhibited) and replaced by conscious motor movements.
In individuals with Dyslexia or ADHD, if this hand-off isn't completed—for example, if the ATNR reflex remains active—looking at a whiteboard and then writing in a notebook (eye-hand coordination) can become an exhausting ordeal.

The Moro Reflex and Anxiety
Children whose Moro Reflex is not integrated live in a constant state of hyper-vigilance. This physical stress reduces blood flow to the prefrontal cortex, the brain's highest executive center.
The solution isn't to talk a child out of their anxiety; it's to "teach" the nervous system through physical exercises that this reflex is no longer necessary at a biological level.
