Oversharing and Info-Dumping in AuDHD
Sharing beyond social boundaries and using passionate topics as a love language — the phenomenon of info-dumping and the shame cycle of oversharing.
I Am Giving You Information Because I Love You
For many AuDHD individuals, the way to show love and closeness is to transfer every detail about the topic they are currently passionately obsessed with (a Special Interest) to the other person — Info-Dumping. This is not intended to bore the listener; on the contrary, it is the act of sharing the most precious treasure in the brain (knowledge).
While the neurotypical world has a norm of "taking turns in conversation," an AuDHD individual may get swept into monologue mode. This happens because the brain cannot halt the dopaminergic flow on that particular subject.

Oversharing and the Social Hangover
Oversharing is when a person spontaneously shares their deepest secrets, traumas, or medical information with someone they just met or in an inappropriate setting. The reason is usually a combination of Impulsivity (ADHD) and a lack of Social Filter (Autism).
Vulnerability Hangover: When the person gets home, they replay every single word they said, over and over again, and experience enormous shame thinking "Why did I talk so much?" This shame can sometimes cause the person to withdraw from social life for days.
