Nutrition and ADHD Collaboration
The role of additives, vitamins, and gut health in managing ADHD symptoms as a part of a multimodal treatment plan.
Vitamins and the Modern Diet
While nutrition doesn't "cause" or "cure" ADHD, it can significantly impact the volume of the symptoms.
The Omega-3 Effect: Essential fatty acids are the "insulation" for your brain's wiring. Many studies show that high-dose Omega-3 helps with focus and memory.
The Gut-Brain Axis: Most of your body's serotonin is produced in the gut. If your digestion is poor, your mood and focus will suffer. Focusing on whole foods (and fiber!) is a direct way to support your mental health.
Additives: Some individuals are sensitive to red dyes and certain preservatives which can "flare up" hyperactivity. While not true for everyone, an elimination trial can be helpful.
