MBCT and MBCL: Specialized Mindfulness Programs
How Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Compassionate Living (MBCL) target the 'Emotional Core' of neurodivergence.
The Emotional Safety Net
For the neurodivergent individual, regular mindfulness isn't enough. We need programs that address our specific Emotional Intensity.
MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy): This is excellent for those who struggle with "Post-ADHD Depression." It helps you catch the "Sink-Hole" thoughts (*"I'm failing again," "Why am I like this?"*) before they pull you into a full depressive episode.
MBCL (Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living): This is the "Medicine for Shame." It teaches you how to treat yourself like a friend. For most with ADHD, their internal voice is a "Bully." MBCL gives you the tools to rebuild that voice into a "Supporter."
These programs are structured (usually 8 weeks) and provide a "Ramp" for training your brain to be kinder and more present.
