Intervention Strategies and Technology
Modern pedagogical approaches and assistive technologies for managing learning differences.
VAKT: The Multi-Sensory Bridge
The VAKT approach (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Tactile) is the gold standard for SLD intervention. Instead of just "looking" at a word, a student might see it (Visual), hear it (Auditory), trace it in sand (Tactile), and move their arm to write it in the air (Kinesthetic).
This simultaneous engagement of multiple pathways helps bypass the weak phonological processing centers of the brain. When letters are no longer just "ink on a page" but a multi-sensory experience, the brain can store and retrieve the information much more effectively.

The Digital Toolkit
Assistive Technology (AT) acts as "ramps" for the brain. Just as a wheelchair user needs a ramp to enter a building, a neurodivergent student may need technology to enter the curriculum.
Essential Tools:
Audiobooks: Allowing the student to access grade-level content even if their reading level is lower.
Grammarly/Spellcheck: Removing the "shame" of spelling errors and allowing the focus to remain on the ideas.
Live Scribe Pens: Recording audio while the student writes, linking the spoken lecture to specific notes.
