Their brain's dopamine reward circuit genuinely does not activate for that task the way it does for a neurotypical brain.
Understanding the IBNS also explains the paradox of highly intelligent people with ADHD who can produce extraordinary work in their areas of passion but fail at seemingly simple administrative tasks. Practical Dopamine-Boosting Strategies

Set arbitrary "personal records" to beat (how fast can you clean the kitchen?)

Urgency creation:
