Cognitive Architecture: Monotropism vs. Polytropism

Economy of Attention and Predictive Processing
A polytropic mind (neurotypical) can spread its attention resources across many channels simultaneously (Low Precision - High Breadth). A monotropic mind, however, flows all its resources into one channel, achieving incredible depth and analytical power. This is the difference in "Precision Weighting" within the Predictive Processing model.
The biggest difference in monotropic architecture is the lack of a "pre-filtering" mechanism. While the polytropic mind automatically filters out redundant data, the monotropic mind attributes high value to every detail (the trees) and models the world through a "bottom-up" construction. This is a "Bottom-heavy" cognitive architecture that strains the processor but keeps raw data in its purest form.
This architecture explains why autistic individuals are more successful in context-independent data processing, yet often struggle in rapidly shifting social contexts (due to the lack of top-down bias).
