Instead of the intense social pressure and chaotic sensory stimuli of traditional environments, the Karavan Cafe model structures work processes to be predictable, visually mapped, and low-sensory.
These social enterprises do not merely help autistic individuals earn a living; they enable them to practice vital executive functions such as barista duties, order tracking, and customer interaction. Direct, supported contact with the public breaks down the cycle of social isolation while challenging the "incapable" stigma with action-oriented acceptance.
