ADHD Peer Support and Communities
Why 'Mirroring' and finding your tribe are essential for neuro-identity recovery.
The Power of 'Me Too'
For most of our lives, we are compared to neurotypical standards and found "wanting." This creates a deep sense of being "broken." When you enter an ADHD Peer Space, you experience Neuro-Mirroring. You see someone else forget their keys or interrupt a story, and instead of judgment, you see a reflection of yourself.
This is the most powerful medicine for Internalized Shame. In these communities, you aren't "too much" or "too loud"; you are just "on the same frequency." Whether it's online forums, local meetups, or #ADHD social media, finding your tribe allows you to finally drop the mask and breathe.
