ADHD and Imposter Syndrome
Why high-achieving neurodivergent people feel like 'Frauds' and how to own your genuine success.
The 'I Just Got Lucky' Trap
Imposter Syndrome is incredibly common in the ADHD community, especially among "Twice Exceptional" (2e) individuals. Because your brain feels like a "Tornado of Half-finished Thoughts" internally, you assume that any external success must be a mistake.
You think: *"If they knew how messy my desk is, or how late I started this report, they wouldn't praise me."*
The Reality: Your brain achieved the goal despite the internal friction. That makes your success more impressive, not less. You aren't a fraud; you are a high-speed engine that requires more maintenance than others.
Practice: Stop saying *"I got lucky."* Start saying *"I utilized my creativity/speed/hyper-focus to solve that problem."* Labels matter.
