5-Step Social Skill Strategy (Social Translation)
A clinical roadmap for decoding complex social situations and developing healthy responses.
Hacking Social Situations
According to researchers like Özenç Ertan Öztekin, social skills can be broken into 5 rational steps for the neurodivergent brain:
1. Scanning: What is the "vibe"? Who is the authority? Is it library-quiet or party-loud?
2. Decoding: Why did she look at her watch? (Is she bored, or just checking the time?) Find the most logical answer.
3. Planning (Scripting): Choose a response from your mental library.
4. Application: Say the words. Use the tone you practiced.
5. Reviewing: How did it go? Did they smile? If not, adjust your "Manual" for next time.
This systematic approach turns the "Social Fog" into a Navigational Map, reducing anxiety through the power of logic.
